Anthropy Constructive Announces Youth Sports Data Set at Project Play Summit
Berkley, CA – March 25, 2025 – Anthropy Constructive, a nonprofit dedicated to addressing challenges that limit human potential, has announced a transformative initiative aimed at revolutionizing youth sports. By leveraging unprecedented access to youth sports data—including millions of hours of game footage, participation metrics, training insights, and medical records—Anthropy Constructive is creating a new paradigm for research and innovation in youth athletics.
This secure data repository, protected by the same infrastructure used by the Department of Defense and intelligence agencies, will be accessible to researchers and innovators. The goal is to develop smarter tools and solutions that address critical issues such as declining participation, safety concerns, and accessibility barriers in youth sports.
"Today is just the beginning," said Jon Nordby, Executive Director of Anthropy Constructive at the Project Play Summit in Berkeley, CA. "We are inviting researchers, innovators, and partners to join us in transforming these challenges into opportunities for our children."
The initiative will expand across the U.S. and Europe in partnership with the Aktive Summit and ThinkSport. Upcoming events include pitch competitions at key global hubs like Lausanne, Switzerland, where participants will present solutions to challenges such as engagement, accessibility, and safety in youth sports. Selected innovators will gain access to this expansive data set, funding opportunities, and pilot programs with major stakeholders like FIFA, Roblox, and Stanford University.
Why It Matters:
Declining Participation: Only 54% of U.S. children aged 6-17 play organized sports.
Health Crisis: 1 in 3 children in the U.S. is obese; physical activity improves mental health and academic performance.
Barriers to Access: Rising costs and poor coaching limit opportunities for many families.
Anthropy's initiative builds on its Future of Play Challenge, which unites leaders from gaming, AI, medicine, and sports to rethink business models and technologies. The program aims to inspire kids to play outdoors while addressing safety issues like traumatic brain injuries (TBI) and ACL injuries through advanced research.
Join the Movement:
Anthropy Constructive invites collaborators from all sectors—whether through data contributions, funding support, or amplifying the message—to create a brighter future for children through the power of youth sports.
